" I first consulted Dr. Adil Khalil in 2008. 30 years of smoking had taken their toll on my gums and teeth and I was finally driven to Adil by toothache and receding gums. I had not been to a dentist for over ten years (having had a number of unpleasant experiences) and to say I was petrified would be an understatement; during my first consultation my husband had to come into the surgery with me and hold my hand.

Adil was extremely gentle and sensitive to my nervousness and talked me through what the issues were and how best to resolve them. Unfortunately, the years of neglect meant that there were numerous issues, a couple of which were quite serious.

Vanity meant I was reluctant to lose any teeth and bearing in mind the condition of my gums Adil started with deep cleaning of my teeth for which I had full pain relief, and despite my worst fears the experience was unremarkable. I continued with regular deep cleaning and a noticeable improvement of my gum health was achieved and my teeth became more stable without any pain. This gave me the confidence to let Adil deal with the more serious issues.

I had to have a tooth extracted and the prospect alone terrified me. I need not have worried, the procedure was painless and again unremarkable and there were no further issues. Emboldened I then let Adil undertake a root canal filing. By now I had full confidence in Adil and no longer found visiting him a nerve-racking experience and the whole procedure was painless and uneventful. I continued to have my teeth deep cleaned every three months, and by 2012 I did not need anaesthetic for this procedure, and I just have the gum numbing gel. Despite my willingness to forgo anaesthetic Adil always offers it and if he thinks that a tooth needs extra deep cleaning he will recommend that I have an injection.

Every course of treatment is carefully planned and I have remained in complete control over what Adil does; though for a number of years I have just gone with what he thinks is best; I have complete confidence in him as a dentist and, as he has the additional skills of being qualified in periodontics and gum surgery, he can look after all dental health needs.

In 2016 I went for the vanity job of a full set of porcelain crowns on my upper teeth so I now also have a lovely smile. Every step of the process was planned and agreed in advance; and everything happened exactly as planned.

I know only too well how poor and painful dentistry can put a patient off, often like me for many years until the situation is urgent.

I have no hesitation in recommending Adil as a dentist for any patient but in particular anyone who is nervous of attending the dentist. "

" My family have been coming to Jade Dental Practice since March 2011. We had to attend the practice as our 5 year old daughter had excruciating toothache and our regular dentist was on holiday- with Jade Dental providing emergency cover.
